Pronouns Definition Page

What are Pronouns? Pronouns are words that take the place of nouns. They can take the place of one noun, or even a group of nouns. If you are talking about a thing like a 'wall' or a 'car', you can say 'it' instead. If you are talking about an animal or person with gender you can say 'he' or 'she' or they.

The Types of Pronouns:

Relative: Used to introduce adjective clauses. (who, whose, that, which)

Interrogative: Used in asking questions. (who, whose, what, which)

Demonstrative: Used to point out a specific noun. (that, this, these, those)

Indefinite: Not referring to a specific noun. (any, all, some, anything, something, many, much)

Personal: Used to replace a person or proper noun. (he, she, they, we, us, you)

Reflexive: Used with 'self or 'selves at the end. (yourself, ourselves, myself)
